Description
On offer here is the INCREDIBLY RARE UK ORIGINAL VERTIGO RECORDS release from 1971,SPACE HYMNS by RAMASES.This impossible to find release comes in the famous fold-out two-sided poster sleeve and the original inner-swirl bag.I would describe the music as spacy progressive folk and the album was recorded at Strawberry Studios,Manchester with members of 10cc as backing musicians.The poster drawings,of course,were done by Roger Dean.
The poster cover is in excellent condition with just a little spinal wear and a further little wear towards the top of the right hand corner of the folded sleeve.The inner-spiral sleeve has browning marks around the edges,otherwise it is great.The labels are clean and perfect.I will now describe the condition of the vinyl as accurately and fairly as i can,having played it completely through several times to ascertain this.Firsly,the vinyl still looks stunning and shiny and plays absolutely perfectly without any skips or jumps.However,there is occasionally a little background crackle,especially at the very start of sides 1 and 2.This disappears when the vocals kick in and the clarity and power of these remain wonderful and any slight background noise thereafter only seems apparent between tracks and,maybe,very occasionally in very quiet moments.I am trying to be as honest as possible because i know the record will attract high bids,but i may be being over critical of the condition.I have certainly purchased vinyl myself worse than this record which has been graded as M or EX ,but to be as fair as possible i will grade mine as VG+.In summary:

This is a very quirky LP but it is undeniably catchy and it is very much of a one-off and was a fantastic Vertigo release.They don't make albums like this any more.
