Rare, unique Canadian LP Elvis´ Christmas Album, LPM-1951, silver-grey RCA Victor Label, 1958

(red sleeve like LOC-1035 but single pocket with different back, only available for ONE Christmas season!)

Rather unknown issue of the legendary Elvis´ Christmas Album. This was released one year after the 1957 initial press LOC-1035 and is numbered LPM 1951. What makes this issue interesting is that Canada stuck to that LOC design instead of switching to the totally different "blue" Cover which was used worldwide on catalogue number LPM 1951. But it has been reduced to a standard, single pocket sleeve instead of gatefold, and the booklet was gone too with this reissue. It was sold for one season only back in 1958 and surely ranks among the 3 rarest Canadian LP´s, together with the blue label LPM 1254 and the maroon label LOC-1035.

Record has some scuffs and surface scratches, but it´s not totally wrecked and plays without sticks or jumps. Sleeve is nice without major problems, has some signs of age but displays very nice. Hard to find in any condition, so take your chance!

Diese Ausgabe des legendären Elvis´ Christmas Album ist selbst in Sammlerkreisen recht unbekannt. Wurde 1 Jahr nach der Erstpressung (LOC-1035) in Kanada veröffentlicht und trägt die Nummer LPM 1951. Jedoch wurde, und das ist die Besonderheit, das Cover-Motiv der LOC hier beibehalten. In allen anderen Ländern der Welt ziert die LPM 1951 bereits das "blaue" Cover mit einem völlig anderen Motiv. Jedoch wurde etwas abgespeckt bei dieser Wiederveröffentlichung, nun gibt es kein Klappcover und Booklet mehr, sondern eine einfache Hülle mit neuer Rückseite ohne Foto (Bild 2).

Die LP war in dieser Form nur um Weihnachten 1958 erhältlich und gehört neben der blue Label LPM 1254 und der maroon Label LOC 1035 zu den drei seltensten Kanadischen LP´s.

Zustand LP: hat einige Gebrauchsspuren und feine Kratzer, aber ist nicht total verramscht. Spielt ohne Hänger oder Sprünge. Das Cover ist noch recht gut erhalten mit altersbedingten Gebrauchsspuren.
