Rare 45 popcorn DOROTHY LOUDON Nickelodeon Rag/Rustle A Paper 1951 Abbey 15055 Shipping Info Description Rare popcorn 45: DOROTHY LOUDON - THE NICKELODEON RAG b/w RUSTLE A PAPER (on both tracks she is accompanied by Lawrence Cook & His Nickelodeons) - Abbey Records 15055; no date on the label, but this was released in 1951. Vaudeville-tinged brassy vocals with barrelhouse-y jazz band, including nice piano solo on B-side. She's got a great, growly delivery.
Dorothy Loudon (1925 – 2003) was an American actress and singer. She won the Tony Award for Best Lead Actress in a Musical in 1977 for her performance as Miss Hannigan in Annie. Loudon was also nominated for Tony Awards for her lead performances in the musicals The Fig Leaves Are Falling and Ballroom, as well as a Golden Globe award for her appearances on The Garry Moore Show.
Condition: VG+ (vinyl has some minor scuffing, still glossy, with a very soft scratch on the B-side that I can barely feel and barely hear - plays though on both sides with no skips or interruptions and sounds VG+ with only some minimal background; clean labels).
(Vintage Records, Vinyl, Single, 7", 45 rpm, Pop, Pocorn, Vocals, Broadway, Vocalist, Jazz, Rarity, 1950's, Collectibles, Souvenir, Memorabilia).
