Description
This 78 rpm record dates to early 1953 on the RCA VICTOR label with a catalog number of 5267 and it sports a white label for DJ radio station and promo use.It is JACK TURNER and his Granger County Gang doing HOUND DOG b/w I COULDN'T KEEP FROM CRYING.The plastic flexidisc is graded VG+ with sticker on both labels which I did not attempt to remove and I assume they are from a radio station.This is not hard core rockabilly but rockabilly in it's infancy.This music can be heard on youtube and a simple web search of the artist and title will bring it up.This is a cover of HOUND DOG done by BIG MAMA THORNTON released on PEACOCK in 1952,in 1956 ELVIS PRESLEY released Hound Dog on the RCA label the biggest selling and most famous version.
