Rare 60s PRIVATE PRESS LP NICHOLS & MAY $65 Funeral Skit on Jack Paar MUCH MORE

COLLECTOR'S GRAB-BAG
circa 1965 / publisher unknown: CGB-100
Original 12" 33 rpm vinyl LP record
"Private Record"

Rare private pressing featuring an awesome array of comedy classics, most notably Mike Nichols and Elaine May performing their famous "$65 Funeral" skit on The Jack Paar Show (listed as track "Long Dust").

There are MANY other interesting old vaudeville and movie musical comedy sketches and songs -- take a good look at the annotated track list below.

SIDE A

1) Samson

2) Cohen [at the telephone] (Barney Bernard skit)

3) The Boy (bossa nova by Evelyn Lear)

4) Nacht und Tag ("Night and Day" sung in English by Aksel Schiotz) / Cole Porter

5) Long Dust [$65 Funeral] (Nichols and May on The Jack Paar Program)

SIDE B

1) Butterfly [Madame Butterfly. Un bel di] (Noel Coward introduces and coaches Mary Martin) / Puccini

2) Cathedral [Winchester Cathedral] (Jan Peerce, Robert Merrill)

3) The Campbells (Martyn Green in soup commercial)

4) Three Little Maids (Joan Sutherland, Ella Fitzgerald, Dinah Shore) / Gilbert & Sullivan

5) No News (Nat M. Wills performs an old Ziegfield Follies routine)

6) Trovatore [Miserere] (Kitty Carlisle and Allan Jones, following a wild performance of Verdi's opera, from film "A Night at the Opera")

Condition: Record retains original glossy sheen, but there are scratches. Labels are clean and very attractive as shown. Cardboard sleeve shown is almost certainly not the original one.
