Description
Very Scarce 78rpm Issue by Maurice Chevalier in 1930 Victor 22549. "Mon Ideal" (My Ideal) / "Dans La Vie Quand Un Tient Le Coup" (It's A Great Life) Recorded in New York, August 15, 1930
At the height of his American film career, Chevalier recorded selections from his films in English AND separately in French Both English and French versions were separately during the same session, and both were released to the American market While the English versions sold very well in the U.S., the French language versions had relatively tiny sales numbers. This release in French apparently sold less than 800 copies nation-wide, and that was almost 95 years ago. How many have survived?
