Your bidding on this rare release of the nine symphonies of Ludwig Van Beethoven, recorded for RCA Victor by Arturo Toscanini and the NBC Symphony Orchestra.
Published in a limited edition, of which this is B 752.
This hard cover limited edition has a biography of Arturo Toscanini along with the NBC Symphony Orchestra.
It contains 12 pages of program notes on Beethoven’s nine symphonies. There is also a page on notable events in the history of the NBC Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Arturo Toscanini.
The medallion on the cover of this album is a bronze facsimile of a medal presented to Maestro Toscanini in 1916 by the members of the Orchestra of Turin.
In May of 1916 Maestro Toscanini contributed his services for a series of three concerts with the orchestra, the proceeds of which went to the Orchestra Fund. In appreciation, the members of the orchestra commissioned Leonardo Bistolfi, noted Italian sculptor, to design and execute the medal, which has a facsimile of Toscanini’s signature on the reverse face.
This medallion is removable from the cover.
The collection contains seven 33-1/3 long play LP’s under the Red Seal Record label, all of which seem to be in very good condition. The performances of the nine Beethoven Symphonies herein recorded took place between November, 1949 and November, 1952. Except for Symphonies No.4 and 5, which were taken down directly from NBC Symphony broadcasts on February 3, 1951 and March 22, 1952, respectively, the recordings were made in Carnegie Hall, New York.

Symphony No. 2 – October 5, 1951
Symphony No. 7 – November 9, 1951
Symphony No. 1 – December 21, 1951
Symphony No. 6 – January 14, 1952
Symphony No. 5 – March 22, 1952
Symphony No. 9 – March 31, 1952 and April 1, 1952
Symphony No. 8 – November 10, 1952.
