Description

Ultra-Rare BBC Transcription Service 3-LP Set – Alice's Adventures in Wonderland & Through the Looking-Glass (1966)

An incredible, highly collectible piece of radio and broadcasting history. This is an original 3-LP set produced by the BBC Transcription Service for overseas broadcast. These records were never made available for public sale and were strictly restricted for radio station use, making them exceptionally rare today.

This particular set features the classic Lewis Carroll stories adapted for radio and produced by the legendary Charles Lefeaux. It features specially composed music by Antony Hopkins and iconic sound design/special effects by the world-renowned BBC Radiophonic Workshop.

What’s Included:
3x Original 12" Vinyl LPs: * Alice's Adventures in Wonderland (Side 1 & Side 2)
Through the Looking-Glass and What Alice Found There (Side 1, 2 & 3)
Original BBC Transcription Service Continuity / Cue Sheets & Music Copyright Sheets: Includes the typed broadcast sheets with handwritten notes dating the transmission ("TX'd 10am 9 APL '66 Easter Sat").
Original Kraft Paper "A BBC Programme" Sleeves.

Condition Report:
Vinyl: Visually appears to be in very clean, excellent condition with a lovely glossy sheen and minimal signs of handling. (Please see high-resolution photos).
Labels: Bright, clean, and crisp green/yellow/white BBC labels with no tearing or heavy spindle wear.
Paperwork/Sleeves: The original typed continuity and copyright sheets are present. They show some minor age-related toning and a small tear on the corner of the front sheet, but the text is perfectly legible. Original outer kraft sleeves show some expected light storage wear.
