Rare BENNIE MOTEN Jazz Poster Victor Records Circa 1928

For auction is a rare jazz poster from the late 1920’s for Bennie Moten & His Kansas City Orchestra. Poster states the appearance is at Dreamland, Friday March 4th. Poster also states: Bennie Moten and his Victor Recording Orchestra. The poster is intact but there are some issues so please read the condition carefully and please study the photos. This poster is printed on heavy stock, there is a light vertical crease down the center that does not detract. Please note that at one point early on someone added some graphics with black ink, which I believe to be India Ink. I will note these additions from the top of the poster and work down: On the left side there is an “A” added; a large “B” was added; one set of musical notes was added to the left side. Now to the right side: two “g’s” and an “o” were added. Now to the bottom of the poster below the piano: just above the word FRIDAY “I”, “R”, “A”, “I” were added; the “F” in FRIDAY has been gone over in black ink; to the left of Dreamland “Y” was added; above Dreamland “e” and “r” were added. The poster can probably be restored by a professional. The poster has been framed. Overall size with frame is about 13” x 21”. I have also added a photo from a Xerox copy of a similar poster for comparison. Please contact me if there are any questions.
