Description

Up for auction today is a pretty rare copy of Dennis Olivieri Come to the Party LP.

It is released on VMC Records VS130 and is marked PROMO.

The Sleeve is in VG+ and the album looks unplayed. NM/VG++.

This is a very odd psychedelic album.

Television actor Dennis Olivieri released his album with the help of Tandyn Almer, who wrote (or co-wrote) the Association’s big hit “Along Comes Mary”, in addition to Almer who plays keyboards, musicians also appearing here are saxophonist Tom Scott, drummer Eddie Greene, guitarist Jack Elliott, and bassist Ronnie Brown. You’ve got to hand it to these ultra-tiny record labels (in this case VMC), they seem to have a peculiar knack for finding people that redefined the term “artist’. Dennis Olivieri was one such person. This disc is filled with strange studio effects and even stranger thematic preoccupations…..
It certainly is an odd party that Dennis Olivieri has invited us to. There are components of bad trip lyrics, jazz rock, blue eyed soul, and a touch of psych rock wafting around the grooves of this record. Olivieri’s voice does tend to be somewhat warbling, but he keeps it under control just enough that it usually works in a 4am bar sort of way. This doesn’t always add up to musical nirvana, but there are a few winners lurking about as well as a couple tunes that will leave your jaw hanging bemusedly.

I bought about 4000 albums at an estate in Satellite Beach Florida and surprisingly this was one of them. It is 100% original. I have sold high dollar records before with perfect feedback, so please ask any questions you have.

If you need anymore pictures then please let me know and thank you for looking.
