All Bidders- Please read below for Postage Details (International), My Grading Descriptions for Condition (important!) and all other relevant information.
Rare: Gene Krupa Drummer man. UK Verve 2 LP set, produced as 2 separate LPs- not as a gatefold.
Here's a very nice set by the genius drummer of the swing era, Gene Krupa- famous for working with the likes of Goodman, Hampton and so on. I am not 100% sure that it is an original press, because I am not sure what the UK Verve label looked like back in that era. All I can say is that it came in a collection of Jazz LPS- all made in the late 50s and early 60s, and it definitely looks like it is around that age. One strange thing about this set is that the first LP opens on the wrong side of the cover. Both covers have the titles printed on the spines, but appear to have been broken open on the opposite sides, as if a manufacturing fault had sealed the lps inside.
Tracks were recorded in 1956 and 1958. There is a great line up of musicians- too numerous to note in entirety, but including: Roy Eldridge, JJ Johnson, Kai Winding, Dave Mckenna, Anita O Day, Nat Adderly, Donald Byrd, Hank Jones, Barry Galbraith, Al Cohn, John Drew...
Don't forget to check my other items- lots of other interesting LPs (jazz, classical, rock, etc)

All sides play very nicely.
Covers- see pictures. Clean, but show their age: The sheen on the laminated sides has faded, and there are other signs of minor wear- esp around edges. The rear covers have a stamp on them- they were originally owned and used in a photography studio by Martin Reynolds, in Preston, UK.

Grading/ condition descriptions.
ABOUT THIS GRADING SCALE: it is meant to reflect both the appearance and sound quality of the LP in question. If I ever have doubts re. grading, I play test the item in question. I endeavour to keep my vinyl clean, and so an LP rated EX, for instance, should play that way without you having to clean it first! I try to be careful and tough with my grading (as I hate it when I buy LPs online that don't meet what I think these grades are!), but if you are not satisfied for any reason- please contact me!
Those of you that are perfectionists should not be disappointed with anything in the scales between MINT and EXCELLENT, but if the item is below that rating, please read the descriptions carefully!
I occasionally use a + or - to show if the LP is on the high or low side of that grade. That does not mean, however, that an EX-, for instance, is the same as VG+.
MINT: new/ unplayed. I only give this grading if I can verify that it is unused. LPS that look flawless, without that verification will be MINT-
NEAR MINT Very minor flaws/ very few fine lines or imperfections. In general- will look& sound great
EXCELLENT Minor flaws/ wear such as fine lines, fine scuffs, or minor scratches that will have a minimal impact on play response. Sound quality should be great!
VERY GOOD Will have flaws such as scuffs, scratches, wear or other marks, but these will not be significant enough for the record to play badly. In fact, typically an LP with this grading will play and sound fine- no probs for those of you who like to listen to your vinyl; just not recommended for those of you that are perfectionists. Take note of any additional comments I might make with items of this grade- especially if they are below the VG+ level. They will usually be scuffier below this level.
GOOD An LP with this grading will have significant scratches, scuffs or other wear. I only will list items with this grading if obscure or of significant interest, and in this case I will play test it and give a detailed response to how well it plays in the general item description above. Usually an LP with this grading will play OK, but could have louder crackles, and/or clicks; depending on variablility between turntables there could be tracking issues too.
About ME: My husband and I are both collectors of music, books, tapes, CDs and other interesting retro items, and usually only sell when we have stockpiled enough stuff we are no longer interested in, to make it viable. Usually we are just happy buying rather than selling!!
IF THERE ARE ANY PROBLEMS: contact me! Communication is always the best policy! If there is some way, within reason, that I can help remedy a situation, then I will!
