Description

Up for auction is the rare jazz 10inch LP, Charlie Parker on Clef MG C-157 from 1954, supervised by Norman Granz. Here, Parker plays with three of the best modern rhythm players of the era: Max Roach on drums, Al Haig on keys, and Percy Heath on bass. This is an ex-radio DJ copy of this album.
Sleeve: EX, with a line of writing on the cover and acquisition date of 5/31/54 written in red, and two small seam splits. Overall, the artwork on the cover by artist David Stone Martin is in wonderful shape, bright colors, no ringwear, no discoloration.
Record: side 1 is NM-, with one small scuff at the end of the first track and otherwise pristine, side 2 is EX, with some minor scuffing on the first track and one light needle trail.

I am a university professor of music here in the US who inherited this and other records (Blue Note, Norgran, Impulse!, Columbia, Prestige, Fantasy, Riverside, etc.) from a collector and former radio DJ a few years back. I am looking to sell off some of these records to collectors/audiophiles who can get more enjoyment out of them than I can.

Thanks for looking.
