On sale this incredibly rare Beatles Box Set released in 1980 in a limited and numbered run of just 150 copies!.

The copy on sale is the number 47.

In 1972, the B.B.C., through its marketing division, produced a radio show in 13 parts to be broadcast on subscribing radio stations in the United States.

The radio show was titled The Beatles Story and was presented by London Wavelength.

A very entertaining show it covered the entire history of the Beatles from their individual beginnings to the break-up of the band. As it was produced by B.B.C. it had an authenticity to it, lacking in other productions.

Taken from radio station reel-to-reel master tapes, the set features the entire 13-hour BBC special.

The set comes in a leather bound album and features 13 picture discs inside 13 different pockets, the set also features a booklet of disc jockey cue sheets that accompanied the radio station copies of the set.

The 13 discs are: THE BIRTH OF THE LIVERPOOL SOUND, GETTING IT ON TO WAX, CHART SUCCESS AND THE PACKAGE TOURS BEGIN, THE START OF BEATLEMANIA, THE WORLD SURRENDERS, THE LIFE AND REWARDS OF SUCCESS, WHEN THE TOURING HAD TO STOP, THE PSYCHEDELIC CHAPTER, MEDITATION AND CORPORATION, HELLO GOODBYE OR COME TOGETHER, THE END OF THE BEATLES, THE JOHN PAUL GEORGE AND RINGO SHOW and JOHN PAUL GEORGE RINGO TODAY.

Condition:

The set is in Near Mint condition, very minor signs of wear, according to the previous owner the LPs were played once when purchased and for the rest of this 35 years have been safely put away on a shelf.

I have closely inspected the LPs and they look brand new to me!.
