Up for bids is a rare copy of Coven's Witchcraft Destroys Minds & Reaps Souls on the Mercury label SR 61239. This is an early pressing with M2 in the matrix. What makes this rare is that it was pulled from store shelves after a photo surfaced of Charles Manson holding this album. Gatefold / Tri-fold cover with lyrics & photo of a black mass inside. Cover has usual wear - surface wear and some ring wear. No seam splits but someone decided to put a 1 1/5 " piece of clear tape on the spine. Side 1 of the album looks pretty good but side 2 has some evidence of surface scuffs & scratches. I played this album all the way through and there were no skips but one of the tracks did have some surface noise which may be fixed with a good cleaning.
I purchased this album from a used record store back in the 80's, and as soon as I got it I put it into a protective sleeve and it went on the shelf where it has been ever since. It has been stored upright in a smoke free home. I am a private collector and not a dealer, and I have decided to start selling off my collection of records and CD's from the past 30+ years.
Records will be removed from the outer jacket when I ship them to prevent seam splits.
