Description
This auction is only for the cassette tape. The background photos from the old Woodshed studio etc. where this album was recorded are to show those interested in the history of this rare item a little provenance. This cassette is from the Firstake Recording Studio / Copper Hill Records where, among others, Travis Tritt got his career started by recording his first album entitled "Proud of the Country" in 1987 and then used by Warner Brothers executive and studio owner Danny Davenport to sign him to a record deal. More info on this can be obtained on the net by simply searching Travis and Danny's name together. This test cassette is a recording from the master tape of "Proud of The Country" album containing all the unpublished songs by Masterfonics Inc. done after mix down. Only a couple or so were made and given to the studio for Travis, Danny and one or two others for approval before album pressing. It's been recently tested and plays although after 30+ years, don't remember exactly who's copy this one belonged to or if any others are even still around. The photo shown under the cassette is of Travis and Danny at Travis's home just after winning the Country Music's Horizon Award celebrating their accomplishments of which this album made possible....Note: For the collector of rare tape recordings or a fan of Travis Tritt, I may be posting in the near future additional recordings and other items from the early days of Travis's years at the studio including a solo recording of "Help Me Hold On" Travis did after he and Pat Terry completed the song which eventually became his first #1 hit, some fun boom box recordings (for the adult at times) of behind the scene band rehearsals, solo recording of the day he wrote "Gamblers Blues", "Outlaws"....the last demo Travis cut in the studio, songs from the just forming Country Club Band, etc....Thanks for taking a look and will be glad to try and answer any questions.
