NICK DRAKE - Fruit Tree
(Italian Original Press on Island Records, ANDSP 3100 from 1979)
Label/Sleeve -> Comes in Blue Island label and printed thick covers with different sketches of Nick drake (See picture). Also has a 12 page booklet with bio & lyrics which has a date written in the last inside page.
Grade (Cover/Vinyl 1/2/3) -> VG+(+) / All Three Vinyls EX to Near Mint-
Description -> All three vinyl’s are all in clean and shiny condition. Only some paper sleeve mark noticeable with no effect on play. Plays with superb fidelity and clean sound. Laminated Box has some shelf wear, specially corners. On the right side, 1 cm tear where the box closes on the flap. The three inner sleeves have split seams. Top seams of all three inner sleeves have been neatly taped with a transparent scotch tape (see picture)
That's all singer-songwriter Nick Drake left the world before he passed away in 1974 at the age of 26.
Three albums. But what albums they were. This 3 LP box set contains all three records on fantastic sounding island pressings ,
If you cannot buy the originals on Island as they are likely to set you back by $1000, this is the copy to get as
they have the stamp of island pressings and sound great. As a bonus comes with a fantastic booklet that tells all about him.
Of course, everything he touched--even the demos and alternate takes--is gorgeous, melancholy folk at its finest.
From the haunting, baroque beauty of his debut, Five Leaves Left, through to his pop masterpiece Bryter Layter, to his
last public offering, the dark and lonely Pink Moon, Drake shines.
A singular talent who passed almost unnoticed during his brief lifetime, Nick Drake produced several albums of chilling,
somber beauty. With hindsight, these have come to be recognized as peak achievements of both the British folk-rock scene
and the entire rock singer/songwriter genre
