Description
Original 1st Japanese issue of The Oscar Peterson Trio “Night Train”
This is a 1st US pressing that was imported and sold in Japan in 1963.
Matrix numbers:
Side A - V6-8538 SIDE 1 63-VGS-544-RE-1
Side B - V6-8538 SIDE 2 63-VGS-545-RE-1
Thick “stereo” lettering on labels as per US 1st press. First edition matrix numbers and sleeve but comes with original Japanese Obi strip and inserts. Sleeve also has import stamp on bottom right hand corner.
What makes this particularly rare is that it is fully complete and in remarkably good condition. Looks and sounds unplayed (I have played it through once) and has been kept extremely well.
Vinyl is near perfect and grades NM. A couple of tiny hairlines in the run out groove. It’s fully tested and plays beautifully clear and quiet.
The sleeve is also in NM condition. No marks or wear of any kind.
The inserts are crisp and very clean too. NM
Obi strip has a stain where the glue holding it has discoloured with age, but is otherwise faultless.
