Rare Northern Soul Acetate Sounds of Lane psych Mickey

Description

Spring is in the air and it is a wonderful time to fall in love with some new music or rekindle that spark with an old favorite. This week I have several great northern soul records up for auction, so please check out my other listings too.

Last spring I auctioned off a Sam Williams "Love Slipped Through My Fingers" acetate...and this auction is for another incredible piece of Northern Soul history. It is 7 inch (45 rpm) acetate from the recording session of what would later be known as "Tracks to Your Mind" credited to the Sounds of Lane. Here the center label lists this work in progress as "Your Mind"  by the Sound of Mickey Lee Lane (Mickey Lee Lane is known for several other Northern Soul tracks including "Hey Sah-Lo-Ney").

The B-side is just as cool and starts off with some studio engineer banter. I have added an auction player to this listing so please give both tracks a listen. I played this record only once and it was to make these audio files. The acetate itself is in outstanding shape, unlike many of the other acetates which I see that get listed with obvious cracks in them. If you are planning on using a snipe program, be warned that it may not reflect the time changes that occur with the DayLight Savings Time switch that will occur at 2:00 A.M. Sunday morning. It is wise to place a bid now, rather than be an hour off.

I am told that the song "Tracks to Your Mind" also is of interest to those who collect 60s psychedelic records. I am a 60s and 70s Northern Soul fan, so the Psych angle is outside my scope of knowledge.

Postage is $5.00 within the USA and $8.00 to the rest of the world. If you have any questions please email me. I almost forgot to mention that there is a nice piece written on "Tracks to Your Mind" in Kev Roberts book THE NORTHERN SOUL TOP 500 Special Edition.
