Vinyl Condition based on the Record Collector Guide: EXCELLENT TO NEAR MINT and  the LP has been professionally cleaned, to add to listener's enjoyment.

Sleeve Condition based on the Record Collector Guide:  VG+ TO EXCELLENT. At base of rear cover there is a slight mark 10mm x 12mm. 

Comment: This is an original 1966 UK copy in superb condition, from one of the greatest Band's to ever grace the earth, the Rolling Stones. The album peaked at #1 in the UK.Though a smash hit in the US as well, it was the UK version that was the Stones preferred format with its additional songs and longer length. Many songs on this album were also covered by other British artists at the time like The Zombies, The Searchers, and Chris Farlowe of course, with Out Of Time. The 11-minute "Goin' Home" is what inspired The Doors to make their song "The End" over 11-minutes long. With this album and its performance the Stones took a major step forward in their development, with Brian Jones adding more and more eastern influences and the Jagger/Richards chemistry burning strongly. The album was recorded entirely at RCA Studios in Hollywood, the same studio where Elvis Presley had once recorded. The album is a legendary classic and is offered here in superb condition, sounding like a new record, despite it's age, i.e. issued in 1966.  

At a website I visited the average fan rating for this LP was 4.5 STARS. The following are 2 typical fan reviews:

1. "Aftermath" proved the Stones could hold their own as album artists. It is a nearly flawless display of five musicians at the peak of their powers. This LP could be considered the first one after the band had achieved supergroup status on the strength of immortal singles such as "Last Time", "Satisfaction" and "Cloud". I believe the British LP is so much stronger than the US one and I'm glad that I was able to have both. For the uninformed, the US release which followed the UK one by two months, has "Paint It, Black" as its lead track while the Brit version opens with "Mother's Little Helper". Either one would suffice for me as both tunes are alltime classics and feature Brian Jones on the sitar. However the UK "Aftermath" features the full-length "Out of Time" one of my absolute favorites, plus "Take It or Leave It" and "What to Do", all left off of the US release. "Aftermath" was such a turning point for the band not only for the use of all Jagger-Richards penned tunes but for the exotic instrumentation. Dulcimer, marimba, harpsichord and the aforementoned sitar add flourish to such standout cuts as "Under My Thumb", "Lady Jane", "Mothers", "Time" etc. I absolutely love this record and cherish this era of the Stones almost as much as the 68-72 period. The UK version of "Aftermath" should be considered one the greatest albums in history and a major stepping stone for the five young Londoners future claim as "The Greatest Rock N' Roll Band in the World".

2. Another great album by the Rolling Stones. This one features 14 Jagger/Richards originals. And they're all good, too, with some being better than others, of course. All Rolling Stones fans should own Aftermath, but the question is: the US version or the UK version? Well, the UK version has 14 tracks, compared to the US version's 11 tracks, so that would seem to answer the question right there. However, the US version does have the hit "Paint It, Black". But the UK version has the hit "Mother's Little Helper", so that's about an even swap. I think the final word should go to the Rolling Stones themselves, who considered the UK version to be the way they wanted the album to be released.
