Attention: Quiex II was a pure vinyl formulation used by record labels to combat CD's from taking over in the 80's. It was colored with dye rather than carbon black (coarse granules that create noise).
Those pressings were distributed as promos to DJ's, Merchants, etc, to showcase the superior audio.
A handful would be released unbeknownst to the public. The vinyl appears black until held up to light, thus showing a brown, beige, grey, or purple translucence. A needle in a haystack when found.
