A very rare copy of the 'Brutes and Savages' soundtrack by Riz Ortolani. I ripped the following description from an '05 listing of this record because that seller summed it up so well..
"Very strange soundtrack to an Australian movie about savage rites. From impressive cover artwork (which shows some painted tribal warrior on front) this soundtrack looks promising …. your suspicion is confirmed 100 % when u put the needle on the record: “Overture” & “Reprise” of the Title Theme are uptempo Funk Beat tracks with a hypnotic bassline, wah wah madness, pounding conga rhythm patterns and dramatic strings passages in typical library style. Essential soundz, very dark and funky! more groovy guitar & piano riffs, even synth moments on “Festival Dance Of The Llama Sacrifice” and not to forget the little but great “Eden Disturbed”: hard guitar driven percussion shuffle beat supplied by a psychotic electric piano line make this one sound like a Mandingo-style Psych Funker! Overlooked, very rare and not featured on the famous blaxploitation site, although this OST definitely belongs there."
There you have it! And that copy sold for $118 U.S in 2005. This copy is ex-Radio from a light-weight mum & dad station so its hardly been played at all. The vinyl is in near mint condition, nice and shiney, well recorded and pressed. The cover is in very good condition with minor wear. A great addition to any collection that will gain in value.
