Description

This is the rare vinyl 78 of the Sonny Stitt Quartet from its December 11, 1949 session on Prestige, recorded during the company's first year. The two tracks - Sunset and All God's Children - are on the light green labels of Prestige 9001, a catalogue number that is undocumented in the Lord or definitive Ruppli discography of the Prestige label. The playing surface is in excellent condition, nearly flawless; perhaps played once or twice. Personnel includes Curley Russell and Max Roach.
