Held in archive. No writing on label. No drill hole. Beautiful condition
A Side - Climb Every Mountain.
B-Side - We Belong Together.
The group at this time consisted: John Wilson (Bootsie) on lead, Cornelius Brown, Rick Lewis and Earl Beal.
John Wilson also led on the northern anthem "Not Me Baby". He replaced Bill Horton between '61 and '68. Like Horton, his voice is distinctive, although arguably more soulful.
This is a scarce 45 only on Promo, especially in NM unplayed condition.
The instantly recognisable John "Bootsie" Wilson on lead with the help of Brown, Lewis, and Beal, elevates "We belong together" comfortably onto a platform of desirability. Wilson makes this 45 work for listeners and dancers alike.
The Rev. John "Bootsie" Wilson (last Silhouette) passed 2009. Elaine Lewis, widow of group member Rick Lewis, said "Rev. Wilson cried when he listened to the old songs during a visit to her home in Philadelphia.""He was so proud of that part of his life, his life as a Silhouette,’’ she said. “He was so nostalgic about that period of his life, and he missed his fallen comrades.’’Records like this tell a story.....a group who had talent, but whose members had to work at other jobs to make a living.
