Rare Soul LP - Jimmy Bishop On Stage Live-Meka 1001 The holy grail of Philly soul LPs, this album was recorded live in 1967 at the Nixon Theatre in West Philly, you can hear the crowd go crazy as the Del Fonics (spelled Delphonics on cover!) do a great live version of "Alfie" and "You Been Untrue" (although He Don't Really Love You is listed on cover!) other tracks include: the funky "Jimmy Bishop Theme", Sweet Soul Music (Johnny Stewart), Ain't No Sun & I've Got To Find Happiness (Ambassadors), Something Is Missing & Don't Waste Your Time (Five Stairsteps), Check Yourself & A Love That's Real (Intruders) and last but not least, the amazing Billy Stewart doing a live performance of Summertime & I Do Love You. Condition: record is VG+ with some lite scuffs that don't effect play, cover is VG+ with usual ring wear. If only a video would exist of these great performances, which are forever gone from such once great musical cities as Philadelphia, where for only $3 dollars, you could see a great show like this on a Saturday afternoon. Now, $3 dollars won't even get you an overpriced cup of coffee at some trendy, yuppy coffee shop!
