Max Lipscomb spent a few months in Gene Vincent's Blue Caps band as a backup singer, guitar player, and piano player before Gene Vincent split with the band or actually the band split and all went seperate ways. Max Lipscomb's contributions are all over the "Gene Rocks And The Blue Caps Roll", Vincents 3rd album. And he appeared with Gene & The Blue Caps on the Ed Sullivan Show. He signed a new contract with songwriters, managers, and record producers Frank Slay and Bob Crewe. After a suggestion by Dick Clarke to change his name to Scotty McKay, they re-created him as a Teen Idol. This record was released in 1960 and one of two records he released on the Swan label before moving on to Ace records where he recorded 6 records. His records are rare and very hard-to-find. You will not find this record anywhere else on EBAY!
