The La De Das- Legend Lp (Australian Gatefold EMI Pressing- RARE!)
Here's a rare album by the La De Das- the awesome group featuring Kevin Borich on lead guitar. This album was cut from 3 different sessions- the first of which, from 1971 has Phil Key (Band of Light), Borich, Peter Roberts and Keith Barber. The second are from 1972- with Borich/ Peel/ Keith Barber- this is the same line up, from memory, as the Rock N Roll Sandwich LP. The third sessions- making the bulk of the lp up are from 1974, most with same line up as 72, but some tracks also have Bruno Lawrence (track 10), Jimmy Taylor/ Tom Sparkes (track 9), and Bill Motzing- arranger for brass, Track 8).
This album features their hit "Too Pooped to Pop" and also a nice version of the Dylan/ Hendrix track "All Along The Watchtower" at the end.
Tracks:
A B
Gonna see my baby tonight Feel like a dog
Morning good morning Sentimental rose
I guess i'll never stop loving you I'm in love again
It's the beginning All along the watchtower
Honky Tonkin
Too pooped to pop
CONDITION (see descriptions below) VG (has some scratches and scuffs both sides. Very clean despite this and sound quality was fine throughout. Hearing it, you'd swear it was a higher grading than this!!!)
Cover- see picture. Clean and intact- BUT: the cover looks worn, front& back- wear mainly is on& near edges; ringmark on back; short split and wear on spine where the title was printed. Inside the gatefold it looks fine, not pristeen (!)- but less worn than outside. I also noticed that the top seam has been repaired at some stage- not at all noticeable from outside, but you can see the evidence when you look inside the opening.
It is worth noting that postage may work out cheaper if you are buying mutliple items- I work out all combined postage by weight, not on a per item basis. That way you have the best chance to get a good deal on postage rates, wherever you live. I have a huge list of other interesting titles currently on ebay so check them out at "sellers other items" - you may be suprised what you'll find!!!!
TERMS: PAYMENT IS EXPECTED WITHIN 7 DAYS, NOT LATER, UNLESS PRE ARRANGED.
PLEASE FEEL FREE TO ASK QUESTIONS. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN COMBINED POSTAGE I AM HAPPY TO GIVE QUOTES FOR LOCAL AND INTERNATIONAL POSTAGE.
AUSSIE BIDDERS NOTE- when combining postage for LPs you can usually combine 3-4 titles in the next price bracket of up to 1kg (price varies by postcode)
HANDLING PERIOD: I always do my best to post within 24 hrs of receiving payment, but because I live in a rural area, this cannot always be possible. If there is some reason preventing my usual fast postage regime, I will notify you.
INSURANCE: Please tell me if you want your item insured or registered (in the case of domestic postage). I will give you the relevant price quote for these additional costs, as quickly as possible.
INTERNATIONAL POSTAGE RATES (AIR MAIL):
NEW ZEALAND- $13 ASIA- $15.40
USA& CANADA- $17.70 EUROPE- $21.30
Upon the buyer's request, I might be open to sending items by sea mail, to help save money in freight- especially if this it a large combined lot. Please note, this only applies to regions C and D (USA, Canada, Middle East, Europe, etc- not Asia and NZ). It will most likely take more than six weeks for the items to arrive.
Thanks for looking and happy shopping!!!!
Grading/ condition descriptions.
ABOUT THIS GRADING SCALE: it is meant to reflect both the appearance and sound quality of the LP in question. If I ever have doubts re. grading, I play test the item in question. I endeavour to keep my vinyl clean, and so an LP rated EX, for instance, should play that way without you having to clean it first! I try to be careful and tough with my grading (as I hate it when I buy LPs online that don't meet what I think these grades are!), but if you are not satisfied for any reason- please contact me!
Those of you that are perfectionists should not be disappointed with anything in the scales between MINT and EXCELLENT, but if the item is below that rating, please read the descriptions carefully!
I occasionally use a + or - to show if the LP is on the high or low side of that grade. That does not mean, however, that an EX-, for instance, is the same as VG+.
MINT: new/ unplayed. I only give this grading if I can verify that it is unused. LPS that look flawless, without that verification will be MINT-
NEAR MINT Very minor flaws/ very few fine lines or imperfections. In general- will look& sound great
EXCELLENT Minor flaws/ wear such as fine lines, fine scuffs, or minor scratches that will have a minimal impact on play response. Sound quality should be great!
VERY GOOD Will have flaws such as scuffs, scratches, wear or other marks, but these will not be significant enough for the record to play badly. In fact, typically an LP with this grading will play and sound fine- no probs for those of you who like to listen to your vinyl; just not recommended for those of you that are perfectionists. Take note of any additional comments I might make with items of this grade- especially if they are below the VG+ level. They will usually be scuffier below this level.
GOOD An LP with this grading will have significant scratches, scuffs or other wear. I only will list items with this grading if obscure or of significant interest, and in this case I will play test it and give a detailed response to how well it plays in the general item description above. Usually an LP with this grading will play OK, but could have louder crackles, and/or clicks; depending on variablility between turntables there could be tracking issues too.
About ME: My husband and I are both collectors of music, books, tapes, CDs and other interesting retro items, and usually only sell when we have stockpiled enough stuff we are no longer interested in, to make it viable. Usually we are just happy buying rather than selling!!
