Description
Rare Tom Jones collectable vinyl/memorabilia.
Tom Jones LP with "Factory Sample NOT FOR SALE" printed on pink label, along with Made In England. Tom Jones and ZAL 10144 (& 5) P-IL and SKL 5072 are hand-written on the label, which I think identifies the record as his LP I Who Have Nothing, released in the UK in 1970 on Decca.
However, there is also a printed box which states: "Notice - This pressing is not necessarily representative of the finished record and must not be used for review purposes." I've checked and three of the 11 tracks on here (according to the hand-written listing on the inner sleeve) were replaced by others on the I Who Have Nothing album. They are:
* A2 - To Be Loved By You (replaced on LP by I Have Dreamed) * A4 - Back On The Road Again (replaced by Lodi) * B3 - I Can't Stop Loving You (replaced by With One Exception)
That's assuming the tracks weren't simply re-named as I haven't got the released LP to compare. Tom Jones experts will know (please tell me.)
B5 and B6 are also hand-written differently on the sleeve - Buddy Can You Spare A Dime appears as Brother CYSAD on the LP, while Like A See-Saw becomes just See Saw. These could just be writing errors.
I've no idea if any of the three replaced tracks were ever released by TJ.
Record plays fine. There is NO sleeve. The plain white inner with plastic bag has the tracks hand-written on one side.
