Rare Vinyl Box Set Genesis The Beginnings of Rock 4 x 12" LPs Booklet Chess 1972

Sale provides a great opportunity, for beginners and established collectors of rare vinyl alike, to acquire a copy of Genesis The Beginnings of Rock, 4 record Box Set. Released in 1972, on the Chess record label and being the first in a series of three similarly presented box sets, this set, with the original Chess outer box, liner bags and 10 page booklet, was acquired by the seller whilst working for the record company; in London during the late 1970's. Having already acquired the second and third box sets in the series, direct and unplayed from the manufacturer, this being the first and having already been deleted, was sourced from a fellow collector and as such, although the majority of the records appear to be in terrific condition, I was advised that several tracks had been played. Other than visible marks on Record 1 Side 1 and Record 4 Side 1, the remainder appear to be unblemished; although the records have not been played since acquisition by the seller, in the late 1970's..
The set comprises an unbelievable compilation of original Mono pre-1957 Blues recordings, with several tracks on Record 3 having been electronically reprocessed to give a stereo effect on stereo equipment; featuring artists such as Muddy Waters, Memphis Minnie, Big Bill Broonzy, Sunnyland Slim, Jimmy Rogers and numerous others. Accompanying the set is a 10 page booklet, which in itself is highly collectable and filled with photographs of the artists, a history of the Blues and an incredibly informative text by Mike Leadbitter. Having been stored for many years, together with other rare records currently for sale on ebay and now forming part disposal of my own vast library of original 7" and 12" singles, EP's and albums, accumulated over many years, this is a reluctant sale of a truly treasured possession and a one-off opportunity to acquire this must-have addition to any seriously advanced vinyl record collection. Sale provides a golden opportunity for any fans of the Blues, or indeed, anyone wishing to acquire original Blues recordings, or just generally interested in the Blues. The starting price for this auction reflects the condition of the discs, original Chess outer box, liner bags and booklet, which, other than displaying minimal handling wear and markings to Records 1 and 4, as noted above, are in terrific condition. So don't delay, start bidding, as I am confident that this rare and highly collectable box set will not last very long. The condition of this item is reflected in the starting price of the auction.
