Description
Weird, provocative, and groovy collection of ten “hip” spoken word pieces by Fr. Pat Berkery, a “with it” priest reaching out to the counterculture around him. Backing him is Spur, a band of “five hippies” (as noted in the cover’s liner notes) who develop an interesting backdrop of guitar-organ tandem soundtracks. Vinyl and labels earn Near Mint and then some - the disc, played sparingly by current owner, looks brand new. Gatefold ‘Unipak’ cover’s top seam on the inside, where the record originally slipped in, has come apart due to weak glue, not due to any sort of damage. Received a positive review in the ‘Archivist’ and is a rare item for collectors of psych, Christian rarities, ‘real people’, and plain zany records. Dig as Berkery waxes philosophical on “Baptism,” “Confession,” “Chalice,” “Celibacy,” and others.
