Description
This is an extremely rare Coil item. Musick to Play in the Dark 2 was released in several formats but the amethyst vinyl art edition was the rarest. Only 60 of them were released.
This copy of Musick to Play in the Dark 2 does not have the art edition sleeve, it is the double LP pressed on amethyst vinyl in a standard edition sleeve. I've never seen nor heard of anyone with one of these. I imagine they were spares pressed in case the art editions got lost in the post or else for Coil's personal archive.
The records are in mint condition, they have never been played. The sleeve is number 153 and has a bend in the corner from the original shipping to me.
The photo I've provided gives the vinyl a bluish tinge but it's purple in real life (the blue vinyl on the more common blue and green version is almost a baby blue). I believe the art edition amethyst vinyls had gold leaf on some of the labels, all of the labels here are just white. The side of the disc shown in the picture has the cool moon crater type etching.
