Description

During their first US visit in 1964 John Lennon and Paul McCartney did an impromptu interview with producer Jack Wagner, working for Capitol Records. It was recorded at the home they stayed at in the Bel Air section of Los Angeles. It was released in two versions, one being 6:11 minutes long (the "Teenset" edit)  and the other 4:09 (the "Silver Platter Service" edit). This audio cassette from Wagner's company WAGNER PRODUCTIONS is the 8:15 un-edited version of the interview, perhaps the only copy of the uncut audio, with what would seem to be over 2 minutes of unreleased Beatles interview audio. Having spent 30 years in radio broadcasting, I suspect this tape was made direct from the original reel-to-reel interview tape. I have uploaded a copy to You Tube so you can hear what's on the tape: I added an "audio watermark" to this recording, but the pings you hear are not on the tape. After the tape is sold the You Tube recording will be removed.
