Description
I specialize in lost, atmospheric, and hypnotic 45s. Grading is done conservatively, visually. Check unaltered sound clips. I currently have a number of cool soul, popcorn, Latin, rockabilly, garage, R&B, country, surf, blues, funk, psychedelic, sunshine pop, mod, lounge, exotica, heavy rock, gospel, swamp pop, Tejano, townie rock, song poem, punk, and oddball instrumental 45 obscurities up for grabs. In addition to a small batch of Greek 45s, I've also listed some really fantastic and scarce garage band 45s from Texas this week.
ARTIST: The Hidden
TITLE: What's Happening / On The Road Again
LABEL: n/a (MBS Recording Studios acetate)
CONDITION: F (Acetate surface is intact but noisy and marked with typical scratches and irregularities. "What's Happening" skips at 0:48. Flipside "On The Road Again" plays through fine.)
Incredible. A primitive but surprisingly faithful read of this trippy Byrds song - even Roger McGuinn's freeform flights of Eastern-tinged 12-string guitar are replicated here, if crudely. This is the only cover of "What's Happening" I know, and it's heard here in glorious basement-bound fidelities. A fairly straightforward "On The Road Again" on the flip is again greatly benefitted by a 12-string guitar and vehemently low fidelities. Presumably a Chicago-area group, circa '67.
