Description
RAY BARRETTO
ACID
(US FANIA, SLP 346, 1968)
RARE FIRST UK STEREO PRESSING of this latin soul classic!! Absolutely flawless album, every track is a guaranteed floor filler!! This is one of the most in-demand Fania albums out there, and finding a first stereo pressing on the gold labels is nigh on impossible these days!! Strangely, the sleeve is dated 1972 but only the first pressings from 1968 came with gold labels, later pressings are on the 'rainbow' labels. Great stuff! Don't miss out!
Vinyl is in VG+ condition : would grade better but there are some bumps in the vinyl itself (a pressing fault for sure) but thankfully none of these bumps cause the album to jump (I have played it through several times to check), they cause a slight 'bump' in the sound but it's not that noticeable - this is a lovely loud pressing after all!! There are also a few scratches on both sides but overall this plays close to EX with some light surface noise in places - not bad at all!!
Sleeve is in VG condition : light wear on front and back, spine partially worn but still visible, name written on back, top seam has been taped, bottom seam is split and has some damage on the back, not bad overall!!
Run-out grooves :
SIDE 1 : SLP 346 A and BELL SOUND stamped
SIDE 2 : SLP 346 B and BELL SOUND stamped
