Description
Ray Noble and his Orchestra play two fox trots, "Midnight, the Stars and You" and "An Hour Ago This Minute," on Victor 24700. Al Bowlly sings the first side and The Three Ginx sing the second. Ace trumpeter Max Goldberg peeps up from time to time. Recorded in London on February 16 and March 7, 1934, respectively. Forty-six years later, the Jack Nicholson film The Shining introduced this recording of "Midnight" to a whole new audience.
This record is in gleaming (or should I say "shining") E+ condition. The music is well recorded, and plays loud and clear over quiet surfaces, save for a few soft ticks at the very beginning of "Midnight." There is slight label fade on both sides.
