Description
The Real Pros - "God Took The Sunlight" b/w "Dear Lord Above" (Cinema 7458, 1974). Rodd Keith sings "Dear Lord Above" -- a pretty good late-period effort of his (in fact, judging by the catalog number, it's got to be one of the very last songs he ever recorded before his untimely death in December 1974). The verses have a distinctly 1970s chord progression to them that I like; there's some tastefully deployed synth and wah-wah too. And it's hard to miss the world-weariness in Rodd's vocal, giving the song extra poignancy. Bobbi Boyle aka Bobbi Blake is the vocalist on "God Took The Sunlight." Record is VG, has a few hairlines and light, thin scuffs; plays with some of the crackle endemic to song-poem records of this breed.
