You are bidding on the rare LP:
Really! The Country Blues 1927-1933, released by The Origin Jazz Library (OJL-2). Made in the U.S.
*This collection features some of the most enigmatic and spine-chilling blues recordings you will ever hear. Based on my knowledge, I believe that roughly 70% of these recordings were originally released on the legendary Paramount label. If you really know your pre-war blues, then you most certainly know how remarkable these particular recordings are. William Moore's "Old Country Rock" is a very loose rag with the roughest of recitations. Son House's "My Black Mama Pts. 1 & 2" sounds like a righteous field-holler with blues guitar accompaniment. Sunny Boy and his Pals' "France Blues" is a brilliant rarity that features the highly obscure Papa Harvey Hull & Long Cleve Reed on accompaniment. The perfection and timelessness of Skip James' "Devil Got My Woman" need not be described. Another Paramount rarity, Ishman Bracey's "Woman Woman Blues", is insanely loose and features the most wide-ranging vocals you'll ever hear. You'll be treated to the great enigma of Crying Sam Collins on his "The Jail House Blues". George "Bullet" Williams' "Touch Me Light Mama" is easily in the top 5 of my favorite blues recordings of all-time. It features a wild, painfully brilliant harmonica duet with the most raucous of moanin' screamin' blues this world has ever heard. Henry Sims' violin blues "Tell Me Man Blues" features none other than Charlie Patton on guitar accompaniment. The vocals on Garfield Akers 'Cottonfield Blues Pts. 1 & 2" are equally eerie as they are intoxicating. The other tracks featured on this remarkable collection are Tommy Johnson's "Maggie Campbell Blues", Buster Johnson's "Undertaler Blues" and Henry Thomas' "Don't Ease Me In". *
The Vinyl is visually-graded in VG+ condition. When looked at under a bright light, the record shows a rich luster and a few, very light surface marks.
The Cover is mostly still in its shrink and is graded in VG+ condition, just showing some minor edge & seam wear.
Shipping is calculated by ebay at the actual cost for you, the consumer. I don't charge any extra fees for material or handling. Please note that my shipping costs have gone up ever so slightly, to more accurately reflect what the Post Office charges, especially with international shipping. I am making some slight adjustments with ebay's calculated shipping to more accurately reflect the actual rates. Thanks.
For combined shipping, please add $1 for each additional LP you purchase. If you buy many records from me, I can ship them all together in one box, and charge you the actual cost I pay at the post office. International customers, please keep in mind that once you reach 4 pounds (roughly 4 LPs+), 1st Class International is no longer a shipping option, and you must ship Priority or Express.
Insurance is your option as a buyer. International customers, please keep in mind that you can only insure your item if you ship Express, which can be very expensive. Please contact me if you would prefer this option.
Please take a look at my other auctions. I'll be starting off my listings this week with a handful of very rare 45's (Doo-Wop, Rockabilly, early R&B and Northern Soul). I'll then be listing a large batch of rare LPs, featuring Country (original black label King releases, pedal steel wonders & private press Bluegrass treasures), traditional Irish LPs (some very very fantastic releases) and some Blues rarities (as I usually do). Once this is done, I'll likely be moving on to a very large, eclectic selection of rare CDs, many of which are American Roots Music, including many releases from the revered Alan Lomax collection. All of my listings are auctions beginning at $4.95 with no reserve, and these fantastic releases are the real-deal, with the utmost quality. Thanks!
