Description

This is a very rare 10" shellac, 78 rpm record which I believe is dated 1929. The performer listed on the label is Porkchop Johnson. I have tried to research this person and have come to a tentative conclusion that this is a performer also known as Lee Green of Leothus Green. If it is him, he was from Mississippi, both in 1900 and died in 1945. This is a Champion electrograph record with an ID #15796-A/B. The label also describes it as "Novelty Piano with Monologue." The two tracks are: Pork Chop Stomp, and Wash Board Rub. I believe I was able to find a recording of these tracks on Youtube, for those who wish to hear it. This record was among the records I found while going through my father's estate. It was inside of a sleeve, which was within an album. Until I opened it, this record was probably undisturbed for nearly 100 years. Since I have no player, I could not try to play it. I also have made no attempt to clean it. But it appears straight, with no cracks and in pretty decent condition. Still, I am selling as is. Price price includes shipping in the U.S.
