Description

Joinery quality, solid timber storage units, specifically designed and constructed to store vinyl records (LP's) comprising 2 identical units which can either be stacked to make a tall storage unit or placed side by side to form a long, low unit for use as a TV table or as a base for your record deck.  The cases are constructed of 1" thick (25mm) close-grained pine using dovetailed joints, with a solid plywood back rebated into the four sides making for a very solid piece of furniture, as can be seen from the photographs. Each unit has three movable dividers creating sections which give intermediate support to the vinyl and stiffen the construction.
The measurements of the stacked units, as shown in the photographs, are as follows:
3'11 3/4" (1210mm) wide x 5'0" (1520mm) tall x 1'1 1/2" (341mm) deep.
Allowing 80 albums per foot run, being a mixture of single/double/gatefold LP's, the 2 units combined can hold around 1200 albums including outer vinyl protective sleeves.
The condition of the units is very good, bearing in mind that they were built in the 70's, with some scratching to one end in particular which can be sanded, filled and made good if the ends are going to be visible.
These are really well-built units, not like the cheap, laminated chipboard, flat-pack furniture of today, and must have cost a small fortune when they were purpose made. It would be easy to revarnish or even paint them to match your decor.
Ideally, this is a Collection Item because of its size, but Delivery can be arranged by Carrier or I can arrange delivery within 100 miles by mutual arrangement. Best to contact me prior to purchasing the Item to discuss the options.
