Description

Red Garland w/John Coltrane & Donald Byrd “High Pressure” 1961 first deep groove pressing Prestige Records NJ label  (# PRLP 7209 mono) in a laminate cardboard sleeve. This is an Abbey Manufacturing/Rudy Van Gelder (RVG) pressing. The record grading is Very Good Plus (VG+). On Side 2/track 2 right near the end of the track there is a 15 second tick due to the tiniest scratch (shown in photo). The rest of the track as well as the entire album plays EX with great fidelity and no ticks. That faint tick on Sd 2/tr 2 is the only reason for my grade, other than that, I’d grade the album EX overall. It plays very well with robust fidelity and all of the instruments coming through cleanly. There is some faint background crackle on softer parts. Visually, it’s clean & shiny with some hairline surface marks and a few smudges. The following is on the runout grooves:


  • Side A): (etched) PRLP-7209-A AB (stamped) RVG

  • Side B): (etched) PRLP-7209.B AB (stamped) RVG


The outer case is Very Good Plus (VG+) - close to EX. The laminated front cover is very clean and smooth with just minor laminate peeling at the opening. The back cover is very clean with hardly any age wear. The top seam has ~1” of wear at the spine. The spine has ~3” “crack” in the middle. The bottom seam is EX with just a few tiny dings. The cover is very sturdy. The original inner sleeve is included. (all reflected in the photos). All sales final.

NOTE:  This album will ship with the inner sleeve & record OUTSIDE of the cover as to prevent any possible seam damage to the cover during shipment. Both the album cover and the inner sleeve & vinyl will be contained within a plastic protective sleeve inside of the shipping box with padding on top & bottom
