Red Hot Chili Peppers Stadium Arcadium 4 LP Box Set. This is not the current repress, it is Catalog ID WB 44391-1. I bought it used about 4 years ago. There was clear tape holding the two gatefolds into the box so I had to remove it to take the records out. You can see in the pics that some of the sleeve came away with the tape near the M in Arcadium. On the spines some of the tape is left there on the Mars gatefold and the Jupiter again has a slight discoloration form the tape where it was removed. The bottom of both gatefolds has seam splitting, which is weird because the cardboard is thick! Again, this is how it was when I bought it. I have only played the first two LPs. After Dani California and as Snow starts there is a kind of scrape - it doesn't skip, just makes a noise as the song starts. I checked and cannot see a mark. There is surface noise between songs on the first side in particular, but it gets better as I played through the album. By the time I got to sides 3 and 4 there was much less. Wet Sand and Hey for example were crystal clear. As has been documented, this is an excellent pressing. There may be some surface noise as is obviously characteristic of vinyl, but the soundstage and the sound in general is excellent. Many say that the digital version of this album is way inferior. I listened to my CD in comparison and the vinyl is definitely not as harsh. I'm downsizing and need to let a lot of my collection go.
