Description
This is part of a big auction full of 1950's blues and R&B 45's that I'm running this week. This time the last 25+ Excello records as well as several from End, Robin, Atco and some great bonus listings as always.
Here's the info on this item:
Release: Charles and Carl - Lucky Star / One More Change
Format: 45 rpm 7" single
Year: 1955
Notes: Original red label first pressing. Tough to find record and the only one credited to this specific artist name. This is a collaboration so to speak of Carl from a group called The Valentines and Charles from the Velvets. The Velvets recorded on Red Robin as well. This one is pretty straightforward doo-wop, has that classic sound. Nice guitar backing.
Vinyl Condition: VG, vinyl is in nice shape overall, just some light surface scuffing on Lucky side. Chance side looks solidly VG+. There is a micro chip on the edge. It doesn't affect play or even the lead-in groove, but it is visible. Plays and sounds great with no skips/ticks/bumps, hardly any background noise at all. Labels are nice, with no writing/tearing/stickers. There is some light scuffing. I guess I'd call this a VG, but it's another one that's hard to grade. Another great player, as strictly cosmetic defects keep it out of really high grade.
Thanks for looking and keep an eye on my store as well. Due to vacation plans, I'm swapping out my Jazz auction to run in late Feb. I keep finding cool stuff and haven't gotten it all sorted out. A 60's rock auction after that with a bunch of picture sleeves.
I want buying from me to be a good experience for you. I also know that condition can be very subjective, so I encourage you to see pics for exact condition details and ask questions if you need additional information. As always, the item you see is the one you will get. Please see my feedback, I think that will show that I am an accurate and fair grader and make sure my customers are happy.
I will combine shipping for anyone who wins more than one item. If you do need combined shipping, please wait for an invoice before paying.
