Item Description Up for sale is a beautiful, highly collectible original vintage mono pressing of Relaxin' with the Miles Davis Quintet on Prestige Records. Recorded by Rudy Van Gelder, this album is part of the historic 1956 marathon sessions that produced the quintet's legendary four-album run (Cookin', Relaxin', Workin', and Steamin'). This particular copy features the early Bergenfield, N.J. fireworks label text introduced right after Prestige transitioned from their initial NYC address in late 1958. It retains the essential deep-groove indentation in the label area and the signature RVG stamp in the runout matrix. Tracklist:

Condition Description
  • Vinyl Disc: Glossy vinyl surface. Shows minimal light hairlines under bright inspection. Center spindle hole has virtually no wear.
  • Dead Wax: Stamped "RVG" is crisp and legible on the runout tracks.
  • Jacket Sleeve: Front jacket displays Esmond Edwards' iconic abstract geometric artwork with excellent color preservation. The back cover remains bright and highly readable, showing only light edge wear and standard vintage shelf aging. Seams are solid.
