Description: Here's a original 1961's LP by two great blues/street musicians, Reverend Gary Davis, a gospel and blues singer whose unique style of fingerpicking influenced many of today's musicians, and Pink Anderson,  whose Piedmont style drew from country musicians and even vaudeville.  GOSPEL, BLUES, and STREET SONGS--Riverside RLP 148, in very clean condition, with the original vinyl. The Pink Anderson side was recorded by Paul Clayton in Charlottesville Virginia on May 29, 1950; and the Rev Davis was recorded by Kenneth Goldstein in New York City on January 29, 1956;. It was remastered in 1961 by Jack Matthews. 

Cuts include: SIDE ONE: PINK ANDERSON: John Henry; Every Day in the Week; The Ship Titanic; Greasy Greens; Wreck of the Old 97; I've Got Mine; He's in the Jailhouse Now; SIDE TWO: REVEREND GARY DAVIS: Blow, Gabriel; Twelve Gates to the City; Samson and Delilah; Oh Lord, Search My Heart; Get Right Church; You Got to Go Down; Keep Your Lamp Trimmed and Burning; There Was a Time When I was Blind.

Condition: Vinyl is bright and smooth with only the slightest use evident. Some surface noise on playing (listen to samples). Front and back of jacket show only moderate handling soil; split at opening top and bottom for about an inch; split forabout 4 inches at top near spine, and half of spine split at top with a small piece of tape holding it together and some paper lost. (See photos). Using Ebay’s Suggested LP Grading Scale  --Overall vinyl (we try to be conservative in our grading)VG+; Jacket VG.
