Description
The story about these two signed items came from two different locations.
The first autograph I got in 1974. I saw the Highway Call tour as a kid at the Palace Theater in Providence, RI. on November 8, 1974. I waited outside by the stage door and the band started to come out and I got ....
- Dickie Betts, guitar, vocals
- David Walshaw, drums, percussion
- Julian Tharpe, pedal steel guitar
- Stray Straton, bass, backing vocals
- ****There is also an autograph on top of someone I can not identify. Its right under the words "From us" I mean I was young and did not know these guys by face. I'm thinking Chuck Leavell maybe but I can not be certain.
You have to look close because Betts wrote only his first name in the trees. After he signed it he got into his white Rolls Royce while the rest of the band rode in the tour bus. No talking for Betts all business.
The second autograph I got on January 18, 2002 in Buffalo, NY at the Tralfamadore Cafe. Super small venue and it was easy to talk to the band. Again, Betts is distant and kind cold but he did make time to sign the album so I thanked him for that.
