Description

Selected titles from the private collection of a music business veteran are now being made available for the first time. Titles offered by this Seller are one-owner and came directly from the pressing plant, record company warehouse, other label reps or record store unless otherwise noted. 

Grading is based on visual inspection.

New and vintage vinyl is hard to grade strictly using eBay’s system because the record and the cover are two different components. Therefore, I grade a record new and mint if it is opened but has never been played.  I use the eBay grading category to describe the cover condition.

I offer Combined Shipping on multiple item orders. 

  • This is a First Pressing of the First Edition of a Partee Records Promotional copy of the original 1974 release.
  • This copy has never been played.
  • Small cut on bottom seam indicates this was a Promo.
  • The cover has tight seams and shows no wear.
  • Pryor's label, Reprise, initially wouldn't release this because of the title. Reprise gave him permission to release it independently. When it began selling alot Reprise changed their mind and it released it and it became one of his best-selling albums. So, this very rare First Edition on Partee Records is a collector's item. 
  • Recorded live at Don Cornelius' Soul Train in San Francisco. 
  • The Seller, who was a Warner/Reprise exec, got this copy from the late, great David Banks who was Pryor's collaborator and producer. It has been in storage for 52 years.
