Description
Johann Sebastian Bach: Passio Secundum Matthaeum – St. Matthew Passion
Karl Richter conducting the Munich Bach Choir and Orchestra. With Ernst Haefliger, Kieth Engen, Irmgard Seefried and many more.
German DGG Archiv stereo-pressing with silver „Alle Hersteller“- labels. Article-No SAPM 198 009/12. 4-LP-Box with booklet and archive-card. No date imprinted on box or booklet.
Still a very early pressing, as the writing on the spine is printed upside down, which to my knowledge was only the case until 1960. Side 1 is backed with 8, 2 with 7, 3 with 6 and 4 with 5.
-
Condition Box: NM . Massive rough linen cardboard-box with hardly any detectable wear. Pristine condition!
-
Condition Vinyl: NM . Majority was played once, only side 1 and 8 have spindle-wear from three or four turnings. Vinyl is pristine throughout! Should be almost impossible to find a better preserved copy!
-
Condidion Booklet: NM. As new.

About my record-grading:
All records are described as accurately as possible and I will always prefer a more detailed depiction of the actual status, but usually I’ll only visually grade the records.
Please note that old records that were stored in shelves for a long time might have static noises even if they still look like new. Professional cleaning will almost always solve that problem.
Dust on records will generally not influence my gradings but if records appear to have stronger signs of soiling, I will give them a professional cleaning and playgrade them to get a more objective view on what their condition is actually like.
