This 7-day auction is for this Super Pristine stereo LP of Roberto Gerhard's THE PLAGUE with Antol Dorati conducting the National Symphony Orchestra & Chorus Washington D.C. and Alec McCowen narrating.  This is the extremely hard to find and much beloved Decca Headline Record Label, # Head 6.   This is on the perennial list of Super LPs compiled by Harry Pearson of the high-end audiophile magazine "The Absolute Sound" (TAS), for its outstanding sonics, and recieved their BEST OF THE BUNCH rating as one of the twelve all-time best classical recordings. 

The vinyl is in Pristine conditon and plays flawlessly on my system (VPI Scoutmaster Turntable, Lyra Argo Cartridge, Audio Research tubed Amp, Pre-amp & Phono-amp).  The cover is also in perfect condition except for the slightest of ring-wear.  I tried to capture the pics in just the right light to show the minor marks...they look considerably worse in the pics than they do in real life.   Complete with the original insert as shown, also in perfect condition.

Those of you who are collectors know just how hard this LP is to find and how fantastic the sonics are on this record.  My wife has agreed to let me have a ridiculously expensive new toy for Christmas IF I sell off some of my LP collection, or this one would NOT be going.  You won't find a cleaner one anywhere so get ready to lay down some bucks if you're serious about owning one of the very few excellent copies left after 31 years since it was released.  You won't be disappointed!

I am obsessive about the care the albums in my collection receive.  This one will be properly packed with LP out of cover, bubble wrapped, corners protected, and cardboard stiffeners to prevent mail damage/puncture, etc.  No cheap lightweight paper boxes from me.  The winner will receive it professionally cleaned and treated with Gruv Glide.
