Description

This is a very nice used copy of "Stairway to Heaven" by Rock Scope, a history of Rock & Roll from the philosophical, spiritual & sociological influences of popular music. This was originally a radio show with narration & cue sheets & is comprised of 6 double LP's, all housed in a jacket like photo #1. It starts with gospel music, Elvis Presley, J.L. Lewis, Sam Cooke, Otis R., Ray Charles & Little Richard. Next are 2 sides of The Beatles, plus The Beach Boys, Jimi, Byrds, The Dead, The Stones, Led Zep, Alice Cooper, F. Mac, Genesis, Yes, ELP, Pink Floyd, Kansas & disco. Show #4 has The Clash, Sex Pistols, Ramones, PIL, Joy Division, Bob Dylan, Bruce S., & U2. Records 5 & 6 are titled "Beyond Rock & Roll", 3 sides of The Jam, Clash, XTC, Siouxsie, Elvis C., Wire, Echo, U2, B. Marley, Devo, Lene Lovich, Pre Ubu, Laurie Anderson & X. Also, Spandau Ballet, J. Hiatt, Adam Ant, Ultravox & Eno. All genres of music are presented with commentary & all types of songs are here, from "Stairway to Heaven" to "Highway to Hell". All LP's are mint except for the last LP which has a few surface marks that do not affect play. Each side is 1 hour, so this is 11 hours of music (side 12 is blank). Each double LP comes with cue sheets & spaces for commercials, so this could be played on the radio again. Tons of music presented in an interesting & informative format. Priced at $10.00 per disc.
