Description
Elvis Presley needs no introduction and is huge in the news at the moment with the newly released movie "Elvis", featuring Austin Butler, reminding us just how brilliant Elvis was as a performer and recording artist.
This LP is extremely rare and features his early hits from the 1950s when he was recording with Sam Phillips on the Sun label. The album was only the second Elvis released in the UK back in 1957. About the only one of the 12 tracks released as a single was "Paralysed" which was a top 10 hit in 1957. The rest of the album features some great lesser known Elvis numbers plus covers of 3 that were hits for Little Richard. They are "Rip it up", "Long Tall Sally" and "Ready Teddy". Little Richard was one of the many black artists who influenced his music. If you want a real tear jerker listen to "Old Shep" which is reckoned to be the number that Elvis sang at his old school which first brought him to people's attention. It features Elvis at his sensitive best.
A fantastic album, in very good condition and a must for any lover and collector of Elvis vinyls. The cover is generally in good condition with the front very good. There is a rip in the back of the cover which is very accurately shown in the photos but apart from that and in particular the main image at the front it is in good condition.
I have been a huge Elvis fan for years and have visited Graceland and am only selling this album because I have so many of the tracks on CDs.
