Description
Buddy Holly recorded "Peggy Sue Got Married" on December 5, 1958 and "Crying Waiting Hoping" nine days later on December 14, 1958. He recorded them on the Ampex portable recorded at 15 ips that he'd purchased from Norman Petty. God only knows what he paid for it but you can bet it was not cheap! These two songs account for a third of the tunes he'd written and recorded in December 1958. Except for "That Makes It Tough" which he'd been working on for months. These were all over dubbed my Jack Hanson and his crew and these two are less bothersome than some of the others. Wonder why nobody ever thought of getting Jerry and Joe B. along with Tommy Allsup to do the right thing with them? Oh, that's right, they did and the boys refused. God bless them. It took John Beecher, what, fifty eight years or so to just get one of them right with his Roller Coaster Records release of "Peggy Sue Got Married". And he got it right! These two here were released on July 20, 1959 with the Jack Hanson work.
